José Vera Matos

(Perú, 1981), es un artista cuya práctica contrasta los legados prehispánicos y españoles a la luz de otros diseños y arte contemporáneo. Su obra articula una serie de referencias históricas, estéticas y culturales desde lo pre-moderno hasta lo moderno, desde lo precolombino hasta lo posmoderno y desde lo andino hasta lo occidental, para hablar de un proceso de cambio continuo que implica a todos.

He is an artist whose work contrasts pre-Hispanic and Spanish legacies in terms of other designs of contemporary art. Hs work articulates a series of historical, aesthetic and cultural references dating from the pre-modernists to the modernists, from the pre-Columbian to the post-modern, and from the Andean to the Western, to talk about a process of continual change affecting all of us.
