Poetry & Performance Workshops at Santiaguito de Almoloya de Juárez Women’s Prison, Estado de México
RIZOMA focuses on a series of experimental poetry and performance workshops led by an international group of artists and musicians for the imprisoned women at the Penal Santiaguito de Almoloya. RIZOMA is an initiative by Lucía Hinojosa in collaboration with poet Anne Waldman.

Close to the 8M Women’s March and the 9M silent strike in support and solidarity with the disappeared women in Mexico, we explored the archetype of the women warrior through poetry and performance, ritual and the power of collective voices.
